How does Arabic batch text counting work?
The counter finds continuous groups of Unicode letters or numbers. Spaces, line breaks, and most punctuation create boundaries. An apostrophe or Tatweel can remain inside a group.
The tool counts every accepted token, then places matching comparison keys in one group. The number of groups is the distinct-word count. A word used once has a count of one, while a repeated word type has a count of two or more.
How are Arabic diacritics grouped?
When grouping is off, vocalized and unvocalized spellings remain separate. When grouping is on, recognized Arabic combining marks are removed from the comparison key.
