How the Abjad Calculation Works
Every Arabic letter carries a fixed number. The calculator normalizes your text, strips the short vowels (harakat), looks up each letter, and adds the values together. The letter Alif is 1, Ya is 10, Qaf is 100, and Ghayn — the last letter — is 1000.
Six letters differ between the Mashriqi (Eastern) and Maghribi (Western) systems, so the calculator shows both. For the full method and the complete value table, see the Abjad calculation rules and the complete Abjad table.
