We begin with the claim, not with a convenient link. A historical statement needs historical evidence. A code-point rule needs an encoding standard. A linguistic label needs a grammar, lexicon, corpus, or language study. A religious interpretation requires careful primary-text identification and qualified review.
Sources are evaluated for authority, relevance, transparency, date, scope, and whether the cited passage truly supports the published statement. A prestigious source can still be unsuitable if it addresses a different method, region, text edition, or question.

Source tier is not a mechanical truth score. An original historical work may be primary evidence for what an author believed but weak evidence that the belief is factually correct. A modern standard can define current implementation while saying nothing about medieval practice.
Match every source to the exact claim
AbjadCalculator avoids citation decoration. A long bibliography does not make a page reliable if the links do not support its main statements. Editors record which claim a source supports and preserve method names, regional distinctions, dates, and edition details.
For calculator pages, the visible value table and normalization rules are part of the evidence. A general history link cannot explain why a specific implementation maps Hamza, Ta Marbuta, Alif Maqsura, or added Persian letters in a particular way.
Important distinction: evidence that Abjad values were historically used in chronograms or symbolic practices does not prove predictive power, spiritual causation, compatibility, protection, or divine approval.
Religious and Quranic source safeguards
Quranic text tools require an identified edition, provenance, license or permitted use, and a clear statement of normalization. Counts can change when orthography, verse markers, presentation forms, or diacritics change.

How this bibliography supports future Abjad tools
The bibliography is an editorial control, not only a reading list. Every planned calculator should identify the rules that need evidence before development begins. The main Abjad Calculator needs a named value system and normalization specification. Compare Abjad Methods needs a separate documented table for every method. Persian and Urdu calculators need evidence for additional-letter handling rather than a copied Arabic mapping.
A Reverse Abjad Calculator needs more than a value table. It requires a licensed Arabic lexicon, stable spelling keys, review status, and a clear distinction between written forms, lemmas, and names. Names by Abjad Value requires name records with provenance and variant relationships. Without those sources, a polished interface could still produce unreliable matches.
Chronogram tools need historical references and arithmetic transparency. They may test whether a phrase totals a year, but they must not present a generated phrase as historically attested. Quranic tools need an identified text edition and exact handling of verse markers, orthographic forms, and combining marks.
